PELITA DAILY — After defeating Denmark 1-0, the Australian National Team advanced to the last 16 on matchday three of Group D 2022 World Cup, Wednesday (30/11/2022).

The city of Melbourne, Australia, roared with colorful lights and the public applauded their favorite country’s team, which had qualified for the last 16 at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Australia’s victory has made it qualify for the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup with a value of six from two matches.

The Socceroos only lost on goal difference from the leaders of Group D France, in the last group match they lost 0-1 to Tunisia.

While the decisive goal for Australia’s escape was scored by Mathew Leckie in the 60th minute.

They advanced as runners up in Group D. Australia became the first Asian representative to break into the last 16.

The team nicknamed “Socceroos” qualified for the knockout phase with runner-up status in Group D 2022 World Cup.
