Cristiano Ronaldo to Saudi Arabian Club Al Nassr
PELITA DAILY — The 37-year-old striker signed a two-year contract after leaving Manchester United last November.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr finally came to fruition on Friday (30/12/2022) local time.
Ronaldo has been linked with a move to the Saudi capital club since earlier this month given the lack of interest from teams in Europe.
“This is more than history,” read a club statement after Ronaldo’s unveiling
“This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to greater success, but also inspire our league, our nation and future generations of boys and girls to become the best versions of themselves.” next.
Ronaldo is also said to be pocketing nearly €200 million per season plus other bonuses, an amount that will make him the highest-paid athlete in the world.
Previously, CR7 decided to part ways with Manchester United by mutual agreement, last November after a controversial interview with Piers Morgan.
In the same interview, Ronaldo admitted he wanted to leave United last summer, and revealed that he had turned down a lucrative offer from the Saudi Arabian club.
It is suspected that this is the first offer from Al-Nassr. With Al-Nassr, the Portuguese captain’s first club outside of Europe, he will be coached by former AS Roma tactician Rudi Garcia and joined by Cameroon star Vincent Aboubakar and former Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina. ●Editors/Al Nassr/Assyad
